Yesterday I took advantage of the last open day of the season at Hodnet Hall Gardens. I arrived just after it opened which was lucky because there was also a private function taking place in a marquee within the grounds. This meant the car park got full very quickly and there were cars everywhere.
First stop was the teashop for lunch where I indulged myself with a cherry scone. Then I went exploring the many pathways within the grounds and got a bit carried away with my camera. The ponds here seem to have got taken over by that green weed which is rather a shame from a visual point of view.
The teashop is so important Great images and I love the reflections
Yes especially if they have nice cakes
Oh Cherry scone…………………..mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm could just eat one!
It was rather delicious
You look quite fitting for the gardens there.
I think I know my place
That weed is a problem. I know I get it here every year.
With a lake that size I would have thought they could have got in some ducks.
After all it’s called “Duck-weed” isn’t it.
‘Tea shop’ – ‘Nice cakes’ – ‘ Cherry scones’ – Tut tut.
The do have a few ducks and swans, but on this occasion there didn’t seem to be as many as usual.
I was wondering who would be the first to tell me off about the scone
Another wonderful place. I’d not heard of it before
This is one of my favourite gardens
