After our walk around Minnewater park we walked to the north-east perimeter of the city where there are four windmills dotted about. These are the only remaining examples of what was originally 29 that stood along the city walls during the 19th century, mainly milling grain. In the summer months two of them are open to the public.

Your windmills look different than the Dutch mills, Cherie, but they’re still mills and so soulful to me. I’m glad I didn’t miss this one!
I just realized these are in Belgium, Cherie. Still…a bit different from our Dutch mills, not that very far away!
At least three of the Windmills are from West Flanders and rebuilt in their current location. I have now posted an artistic version of another photo I took of the same windmill.
