…The pathways of life.

Pathways

Those of you who have been following my blog for some time will know that last year presented some challenges for me and that I have not had much time for relaxation.  I was hoping for lots of free time over the Christmas break to enable me to gather my thoughts and get refocussed.  My days were a little bit more crowded and busy than I would have liked but even so my thoughts are coming back into focus (for now at least).

I know it sounds a little trivial, but one of the things I wanted to get tidied up was my flickr account.  I have been very lax with connecting my photos to collections which would make it easier to view a particular holiday or interest of mine.  I have now got that in order which then led me to sorting out all the superfluous groups I had managed to join for one reason or another. Eventually I get to the point and title of the post…

Before life crowded in on me one of the groups I enjoyed was ‘Perpetual Travellers’ (aprox 3 years ago).  It is a group of people that like to explore ideas, pathways, freedom, spirit, enlightenment and the experience of the journey and pathways in life.  These ideas were explored by conversation and through art and poetry.  I am hoping that in 2011 I will have enough free space to further explore these ideas.

Dani who started up the group had this to say:

I very much like the idea of: ” the experience of travel is more important than reaching the specific destination.” as long as we have a direction. But we do this, retaining the freedom of spirit to be able to suddenly change direction, if circumstances force us to, or if we need to change to discover new ways of welcoming the light.

My thoughts at the time were:

I think freedom and learning from others is important and exploring your own thoughts leads to enlightenment and new paths.

From Muslih-uddin Sadi:

Of journeying the benefits are many: the freshness it bringeth to the heart, the seeing and hearing of marvellous things, the delight of beholding new cities, the meeting of unknown friends, and the learning of high manners.

J. R. R. Tolkien expands on the idea:

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

There are many pathways on the journey through life…

“the experience of travel is more important than reaching the specific destination”…

Well that is certainly the only way that I can travel through life, and try to find any interest and enjoyment in it.

…or as C.S.Lewis said, “higher up and further in!” :)

One step at a time. No rehearsal. A lot of repetitions of the same mistakes.

I seem to have a really good go at flickr and then it fades back into obscurity again! That one sounds lovely. But, I always seem to be running late with blog commenting let alone adding any more ;) I am glad you found a little time to reflect, sometimes it is necessary I think. I love paths, there is something about them….
Did you enjoy the Narnia film? I rarely watch TV but did actaully watch two or three films over the Christmas period and one of those was the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Paths fascinate me too :-) Especially ones that fade into the distance enticing you take just one more step so you can see what is around the corner.

The Narnia film was brilliant, very fast paced and tense. For kids though, I think it is quite scary in places.

    Et in Arcadia Ego.

    And,

It’s a long road out of Eden.

    • CherryPie says:

Or maybe a long road to enlightenment? ;-)

      • Altean says:

Please don’t ascribe too much value to the metaphysical, Cherry. :-)

The evolutionary path we are treading currently has been trodden already, maybe more than once…. in fact, probably.

“Eden” was not the first “Eden”, and the way we are screwing up, it won’t be the last!

        Our collective clock is ticking.

However, in the overall scheme of things, the original architects may show themselves. :-) Their path is amazing.

        Have a good day. ;-)

On this occasion metaphysical wasn’t on my mind ;-)

Thank you for clarifying you original comment further :-)

In relation to your comment ‘we are screwing up’, you might like this series of photo creations which link into the above post in relation to the flickr group I mentioned.

            Cherry,

If you understood my first comment correctly, please follow this. ;-)

Two paintings were created by the artist who created those words. He was a member of underground occult “clubs” (so called in those days) whose precepts have been proven by accurate, (outside the Vatican control) transcriptions of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

In the first the girl is as seen……

In the second she is clearly pregnant.

The staffs of the shepheards create certain angles. The Arc of Nut is involved, but this has created silly thinking in certain circles. The science becomes obvious once understood. The painters knowledge is amazing for the year, and shows an underground knowledge transmitted over thousands of years, probably via the albigensian community.

The overall story behind the enigma is documented in massive style over thousands of acres, and confirms from thousands of years ago happenings only recently understood.

Professional writers, with understanding, who have explored this enigma in print have largely drawn the wrong conclusions, after throwing in a plethora of esoteric knowledge that has mainly served to entangle the reader deeper into the mists. The answere was always simple, .. the intent of the creators to preserve knowledge. That intent is spread globally.

The eureka moment is very hard to find. :-)

Have a relaxing weekend Cherry. ;-)

There is so much to say in relation to this and connected thoughts from our previous conversations…

I don’t know where to start!

I think I will start from something that sounds quite unrelated on the face of it.

Remember my water spillage and my comments on the only book that got damaged?

I will expand on my comments to you when that happened. I was reading about biblical archaeology and had recently been reading on the dead sea scrolls. I also mentioned to you a conversation with a friend, all these things led to me having that book by my bedside as reading matter. The conversation with my friend was about energy, light and numbers.

The pages that got damaged were related to that conversation…

Thoughts and processes, life etc is all to do with tuning into the frequencies and connectivity. I am not explaining myself properly but I hope you understand what I mean? This does relate directly to some of the things you have shared and discussed with me.

In relation to your second paragraph (occult) I think you will smile when you know which book I am a third of the way through ;-) It is a novel, I needed a change from my more serious reads :-)

The Arc of Nut – I have not come across that before. Can you give me a pointer to find out more?

I think we need to explore my use of the word metaphysical and maybe my many experiences that relate to the experience you shared with me. Some of mine are not quite so pleasant but… They are all one and the same.
