Beautiful statue too. Mickie
Thank you
Flutes are very much ‘in vogue’ (or should that be ‘in blogue’) at the moment.
I did a bit last week on M.Organ and yesterday another post on T.Bar.
I guess that fellow has just finished or just about to start, judging by the position of the flute.
Or perhaps he is just taking a ‘breather’ between movements?
Was there anything else lower down?
Like a music stand.
He looks like he is gathering his thoughts to start playing to me
There is a very tastefully placed cloth lower down, perhaps I need to post the full statue picture that I took
I haven’t been to Hardwick Hall in York before.
Is it worth visiting?
Sometimes, the National Trust stops you from taking pictures inside…
Can you please tell them this, “I’m a tourist not a terrorist!” when you see them in your next visit?! Ha… ;P
Hardwick Hall and Hardwick Old Hall are situated next to each other. Both places are well worth a visit. Visit the old hall first, it is a ruin but quite fascinating.
You can take pictures inside. National Trust is working on this and more and more of their properties are allowing internal photography (albeit without flash).
A couple of mine from the Hall just to prove it is allowed:
The Muniment Room
The High Great Chamber
Thanks for the info and link.
It looks like a fun place to spend a day!
I will visit it when I go to York next time.
I shall look forward to seeing your photos of the day.
The music or the sculpture?
It is all in the title.
Fetching young fella that one
I can’t say I noticed
I don’t remember that statue from Hardwick Hall, but it is one of the places that stands out in my memory as a great place to visit. There was so much to learn there.
It is a wonderful place to visit, especially in conjunction with the old hall which is next door.
