It was lovely to see the sun come out this afternoon, it lightened my spirit. My household chores were done so it was an ideal opportunity for me to test my new camera out in the garden.
When I visited Wenlock Priory recently I tried the ‘Aperture Priority’ setting and struggled with it, despite having recently read the instruction manual…
Today I explored the camera settings to see if I could work them out. I took a few photos in the garden, checked the results on the computer and the results were not what I wanted. I read the instruction manual again and went into the garden for a second test. I realised that when I was in Wenlock I had inadvertently changed a setting which was affecting the quality of my results. I fixed that and then practiced the DoF (Bokeh) effect.
In non technical terms that means how fuzzy the background is. I wanted to test how much background fuzziness the camera was capable of and I was happy with the results.
In the next few days I will post the effects of my DoF tests but today I want to share with you the snowdrops in my garden 
I never saw/heard of snowdrops till moving to Europe, Cherie, and now I see them almost everywhere we go this time of the year. We were in Gouda on Friday where we saw a whole splash of them. I love that you’ve shown them to us…and that you’re also experimenting with your caxmera. To be honest, I use Aperture Priority all the time!
Thanks Ginnie, I am glad you enjoyed the snowdrops. I always like to use the aperture priority for my garden shots. My compact camera only worked to a certain point so I am enjoying test my new one out
I’m surprised at the hundreds of varieties there are and how different they look. I even believe some snowdrops have a perfume, though I have yet to find one.
Flowers just fascinate me
I don’t know about the perfume though, I don’t have a sense of smell.
