These are the arms of John Clifford, ninth Lord of Skipton, who was also known as the Butcher. The beasts supporting the shield are wyverns – half dragon, half serpent.

Those are certainly impressive!
I find it amazing that they are still so detailed after all of this time.
Those beasts have webbed feet and the one on the right as you look at it has a very ducky appearance!

It looks like they chose the right stone when it was built as the amazing artwork has stood the test of time for generations to enjoy.
I thought the detail in it was amazing.
