First of all, thanks for the photo’s of beautiful, majestic places that I had no idea existed. I lived in Cambridge for many years, and although I loved the ancient city I never took the time to explore beyond what was accessible to anybody on the street. One of my sons went to Oxford University and never went into the college chapel. That is disturbing!

Thank you for your kind comments :-) I can’t believe your son never visited the chapel, I find all churches fascinating. Cambridge is not a place I have been, perhaps I should change that.

As an aside I don’t have comment moderation on, so all comments get posted. I hope you didn’t mind my editing of your comment.

I hope none of my comments have caused you difficulty. Because some of them appeared to be pending I assumed that you had intercepted them. Most likely, it’s the case that you have taken them down once discovered. I am not at all computer literate so please accept my abject apologies.

Yes, we were just collecting all his gear at the end of the year and I asked what the building was over the courtyard. ‘Oh that’s the chapel.’ His girlfriend agreed.
Neither one of them had ever been inside in three years. In their defence, it was not one of the venerable older colleges so the chapel was rather ordinary compared with others. Still, not good.

Cambridge is beautiful and a lovely place to live and work. I miss it a lot. You should definitely visit because it would hold a lot of interest for you. Audley End House is nearby and also Wimpole Hall which we visited a few times. There’s also the huge Cathedral at Ely which is also a short drive from the city. I’m sure you know this already!

    Have a fine week.Xx
