        Lord Armstrong was a genius. I remember your Cragside photos and no doubt you are familiar with Bamburgh Castle too. My Mother used to work as a wages clerk in Armstrong’s factory beside the River Tyne in the early 1960’s.

          My article is entitled ‘An Extraordinary Man’. It mentions Cragside and the Elswick works and as much as I could squeeze into a small article. I wanted to incorporate Bamburgh but that would have made the article too long.

          It is nice to hear a personal account of working in the factory in that era :-)
