I am not ambitious to appear a man of letters: I could be content the world should think I had scarce looked upon any other book than that of nature.

Ah… A very significant chap (although I would grumble about your spelling of his first name). The “book” of nature is indeed the one to read, and he read it exceptionally well. Although despite his words he did dabble rather in a much less reliable one, I would suggest… Apparently “In his Will, Boyle provided money for a series of lectures to defend the Christian religion against those he considered “notorious infidels, namely atheists, deists, pagans, Jews and Muslims”, with the provision that controversies between Christians were not to be mentioned.”
Ach, but nobody’s perfect
No more comments on the Thought from me this week
And that is a very nice picture.
Oops! I have corrected the typo.
If that is what he said in his will I can’t subscribe to that sentiment!
I tried very hard to find a quote from my pending list that you would like (for a change)
And I do like the quote very much, thanks.
I’m sure that Mister Boyle was a fine fellow! An lover of nature and an all-round honourable man.
A lovely thought for the week.
I am glad you like it
an idyllic scene !
Nature at it’s best
As always, a great photo, Cherie. Thank you!
Thank You
It is a very nice thought Cherie… your picture of the cow in the pasture by the stream and mountains in the background shows us nature at it’s best….peter:)
It was lovely and peaceful just there.
I got lost in translation with the quote. But I do love you picture. What a wonderful scene. You were in the right spot on the right time.
It was a lovely place to be
One could certainly do worse than stay with that kind of book, Cherry. I LOVE the image!
Thanks Ginnie
And that particular piece of nature is very nice.
Glad you like it
charming scene. very quiet and serene. unfortunately never had the opportunity to visit this part of the country
It really is a nice part of the world
wow its really nice image. nice camera shot
Thanks Alvin
“Cow”?
I see a sheep. Am I misreading Nature’s book?
And that was meant to be a reply to Peter. Nature is playing tricks tonight, either in me or in the blog software
DQS you make me laugh. I also noticed that the sheep became a cow but couldn’t be bothered. Still, it’s funny.
Women have always laughed at me, and that has rarely been the reaction I was looking for.
A fine page of nature you’ve been digitalising, CherryPie.
I do especially like the sheep. It looks a bit like a cow-ard.
Thank You I do my best at trying to digitally record nature in all its finery. But there is nothing quite like seeing and experiencing nature first hand.
If I remember correctly the sheep’s name is Noel.
Oh, is it? : )
The Lake District walker in me wants to guess where this is but on the other hand, as it is so delightful, it’s best left unsaid as many more tourists will come & take over !!
I would have to go back and check through all the photos from that holiday to find out exactly where it was. But is was very quiet…
