I know our time zones are all different so midnight will bring in the New Year at different times for each of us. But tonight, ‘New Years Eve’, as midnight turns in the UK is the perfect occasion for me to raise my glass to friends, old and new, and also remembering absent friends.

I went to bed with a sleeping tablet at half ten on New Year’s Eve. Most of Scotland had other plans, apparently, but they didn’t wake me up.
I am not a fan of New Year but I do like to spend it with a few family or friends. Preferably enjoying a meal out.

I have mostly stayed in doors, so yes I am warm and dry
I am so glad I live in the middle of the country and haven’t had the trauma of the floods that are taking place down south!
