    i like the balanced light in here, just enough to make out the details in the architecture and the patterns in the glasswork

    This makes you realise what we have lost in our churches by the Reformation – I am sure we would have had statues on the pillars or elsewhere in the Church just like this

      Henry has a lot to answer for! I am sure our lost churches and architecture were equally as stunning.

      Parts of Mechelen were destroyed during the war which is also upsetting for someone who loves historical buildings.

    Amazing how you always find the perfect photo to fit the Thought for the Week. It is hard to shine in dark times.

      Thank you Claude :-) I try to get the photo and words to work together.

      Yes it is sometimes difficult to shine in times of darkness. It is always refreshing when it is possible to break free from the fog :-)

    Too true. I’ve often thought what it would be like if people’s true characters were reflected in their outside features.
