I love statuary. That is what our pier needs.
What is the significance of that man wearing a veil?
Was the top photo taken from a ferry? Reminds me of crossing to visit the Isle Of Wight
The veil is signifying that he is turning a blind eye towards smuggling.
I was standing near to the statue in the bottom photo when I took the first photo (using zoom).
What is the coloured markers in the background on the promenade? Also, what is that impressive building?
Oops, I mean what ‘are’ those coloured markers? I was initially going to only ask about the building and mid-sentence thought I’d ask about the markers too.
The history of the building can be seen here:

I am not sure what you are seeing as coloured markers, unless you are meaning the cranes in the background?
What a wonderful place, Cherry, to put on our Bucket List. I especially like the last sculpture.
We didn’t have enough time to explore as much as we would have liked
Sadly – that’s it?
Unfortunately that is it, we didn’t have much time there. There is however still Miramare Castle to look forward to.
What a gorgeous place. You’ve really piqued my interest in this part of the world!
I am glad you enjoyed my small glimpse of Trieste
Ha ha.. That statue is having a peekaboo moment.
On the other side his face is revealed
