I probably should have warned you that sunglasses were needed for the before shots of the smallest room in the house. This decor is the previous owners handiwork, I quite liked it when we moved in but a change has long been overdue.
Tiling the hallway has been in the planning stage for some time. This project involved the tiles continuing into the downstairs cloakroom leading to the sensible option of changing the downstairs toilet and sink at the same time.
Due to the dark nights I have been unable to take a decent photo of the hallway before the work started to take place. I have found photos from some time ago that also shows the old front door which we have also recently had replaced.
…. pfew… that is Orange indeed ….. I know how that goes with projects… finally after 7 years I put lights under the cabinets in the kitchen… the ones that are over the counter. Finally we can ’see what we do’…… …. we are both thrilled with it.
I am eager to see the ‘after’ of the smallest room in the house
My hall tiling project has been about three years in the planning stage. After our garden project Mr C suddenly sprung into action and set in motion all the projects that I had planned. The projects are ongoing as will be unfolded as I post about this project.
You will be making an interersting series of this, Cherie
I hope so
Refurbishments can include some elements of the old. It would be a shame to lose that wooden loo ‘ furniture’. It looks like a ‘warm’ room too.
Photos can sometimes be deceptive. The loo seat is a cheap plastic one replacing the previous loo seat that cracked in an alarming way whilst in use (thankfully not by me ) just a couple of months ago. It was too long to wait for the new fittings so we had to have a temporary replacement…
The room did have a warm feel about it, that is why I liked it
your guests would never fall asleep on the toilet in the smallest room of the house Cherie….peter:)
HaHaHa, My guests tended to avoid using the room
I used to have a wooden loo seat; so much warmer than a plastic one. Having just recently had complete bathroom refit, it’s nice to have a proper flushing loo again after 20+ years of sometimes having to re-attach the handle to the flushing mechanism at least twice a week!
Your new bathroom looks great As I mentioned above the loo seat in the picture is a very good plastic imitation of wood. To be fair it was a nice loo seat much better than the one that cracked!
That’s certainly quite bright…
There is no need to be polite
I guess the previous owner was thinking that the colour would brighten up that small space.
It certainly worked
