One of those attractions … especially when there are no tourists around. …
Well there was me behind the camera in the last photo
And how lucky you were there was no explosion (just following what happened/happens in Manchester).
The explosion was in a concert venue just after the concert had finished.
There are reports that subsequently a controlled explosion took place in an open space called the Cathedral Gardens.
There is history of bombing in this area

Well, although far away, I can assure you that this time it was not the IRA.
I wasn’t suggesting it was and last night’s appalling terrorist attack has nothing to do with Cathedral’s, it has everything to do with politics. Politics that throughout the ages have got in the way of and obstructed the understanding of universal truths.
Anyway this post was about a beautiful architectural building showing how the light plays on the stonework at different times of day
Please forgive me.
After my first comment I should have gone to bed, or at least have silently (!) followed the news. Won’t happen again.
There is nothing to forgive
some splendid shots, CP. i liked the upright lines and form of the first shot, specially.
The West front is quite spectacular
What a stunning cathedral – such lovely photos
Thank You
