Some things just have to be done ;-) It was also a good way to celebrate (or commiserate) my last day of my current employment.

National Cream Tea Day

National Cream Tea Day

Some goodbye/thank you flowers from my colleagues. With the roses as well my house is beginning to look like florist’s shop :-)

A Celebration

  1. Looks wonderful, CP. Hope it wasn’t too emotional; every ending is also a beginning…and all that! x

I thought I might, but I didn’t get emotional although one of the ladies I worked for did.

I do see it as a new beginning, a blank canvas for me to explore and shape :-)

At a time of mixed emotions, we have to select comforting elements to surround ourselves with. Beautiful flowers, warm sunshine and Devonshire Teas will do the trick every time :)

What a lovely way to start the day :) Whoever sent the flowers has good taste, in both in flowers and friends :) (And you have good taste in celebration/commiseration breakfasts, looks delicious!) And as we know, you have good taste in flowers, too. In fact, you said: “My house is beginning to look like a flower shop.” Hmm, that’s not a bad retirement idea? ;)

Congratulations on your retirement, Cherie, a job well done!. So many new ventures adventures await – hugs to you as and best of wishes as you embark upon them :)

We had the cream tea for lunch after I had finished work. Later in the day I met with a few colleagues before having a meal out with Mr C. Then a bit later on we shared a glass of champagne with my mum :-)

Funnily enough, I had something very similar on my last day at work, too; it was rather more ad-hoc, though, and trying t ensure that we did not get too much cream and jam on the keyboards, etc. My biggest disappointment since retiring was not having the free time that I was expecting.

I read the comments and the replies… I think a happy retirement is in order then. Now I know for sure, like Alan says, that often you wonder how is it that I had time to work now that I have so many things to do.
To celebrate that with scones :) :) I would not mind that too (soon)…….
    Beautiful flowers too.
    Enjoy.

Well that is a catchy title for a foodie!

I miss a good scone with jam and cream (I do it the other way around to you!). Sadly, gluten-free scones aren’t quite as nice and now being dairy-free means I can’t have the cream either :(

    200% support for that, Cherie.

  9. Am I going to see you on Location Location Location soon? ;)
