What a fabulous series of stained glass. It tells the story indeed. Good for all the people that were not able to read nor write. ‘They got the picture’…..
Fabulous colours, also the shadow ones are a joy to the eye.
    Have a great Sunday.

  2. James Higham says:

    Lots of history there.

  3. A beautiful church and stunning stained glass – really beautiful just love all the colours.

  4. Hels says:

The colours are still rich, centuries later. And I agree with Astrid that biblical stories could be shared with largely illiterate congregants via beautiful images.

But in northern countries like Britain, wouldn’t ordinary glass have let far more light into the centre of the church?

The glass I think is quite new, although I have not researched it. The building is all that remains from a former priory.

I enjoyed the light through the windows in what is now the Parish Church. I am not sure that plain windows would give more light. Light was streaming through the windows in a special way.
