The ceiling is spectacular, with its biblical paintings and its ?gold decoration. Imagine the poor artist who had to do the painting, presumably flat on his back.
I am not sure if the gold is gold leaf or not. The information is a bit sketchy.
The interiors look cool, quiet and reverend. The exterior looks ‘busy’.
The brick work outside is rather busy but I like the top of the facade with Christ and the Cross with the Apostles below.
So much beauty – and glitter.
At one time all churches and monasteries were brightly coloured like this. It is only a few that have been restored to represent how they would have been when they were first built.
