My word for how I feel today is ‘inspired’ even though I didn’t have time for a walk, not even a garden walk.
Mr C and I spent the morning tidying up our garden. We were pleased with the result but there is still more to do. After our efforts I sat on the patio enjoying a cup of tea and the birds flitting around the garden and their delightful songs. I also noticed that the leaves on ‘my oak tree’ were emerging due to the recent sunshine.
As I was enjoying the refreshing cuppa my garden Robin came to say hello and perched on a pot that was next to my patio table.
After lunch Mr C and I tackled a board game (a strategic game rather than a family game) that we had never managed to play all the way through before. A fabulous game we just needed to navigate the long detailed rule explanation.
As dinner was cooking and the sun was setting Venus sparkled in the sky, a blackbird sang his heart our from a nearby rooftop and to my delight I saw two bats flitting around.
These things (apart from the board game) mean that spring is here and I am feeling blessed that I have such a lovely space to enjoy during our current retreat from the wider world.
Happy Easter, Cherie, it looks a picture above!
Happy Easter James.
We take much comfort for the simpler things in life when forced to slow down. Once the virus is under control/eradicated, let’s hope that e continue to enjoy such delights.
I will always enjoy my garden, especially in the sunshine. I am missing my local walks, I would so love to see spring unfold and the ducklings on my nearby pond. Not to mention the bluebells further afield.
Which strategic game?
I’ve been playing Scrabble, Upword, Boggle etc a lot during this lockdown.
My highest score for Scrabble last night was 362!
I haven’t played scrabble for a while, I must track it down.
Over the bank holiday and the weekends Mr C and I have been reacquainting ourselves with my board game collection and even considering a new one…
The Easter Sunday game was perhaps not my best choice for a theme at the moment. It was set around Notre Dame Cathedral during the plague!

This Notre Dame game is new to me.
How spooky cos I read an article about its restoration progress just yesterday.
How is the restoration going? I was thinking about that too when I played the board game. I remembered that it was just before Easter 2019 that the tragedy occured.
