Yesterday, two weeks behind schedule in my #walk1000mile challenge I reached 300 miles. Many of my recent walks have been around my garden. Over the Easter weekend the leaves on ‘My Oak Tree’ have exploded into life. Truly amazing!
I bought my 200 mile treat on my last excursion before we were requested to stay at home as much as possible.
The bird bath has been a delight, my garden birds love it. I put it quite close to my house and patio wondering if that would put them off visiting. It didn’t.
The first visitor was a Wren followed by: magpies, a blackbird, a robin, a collared dove, a blackbird & a sparrow sharing the space, 2 Goldfinches and a fleeting visit by a blue tit.
Sometimes they came for a drink but quite often they came to splash around in the bath. The birds are such a delight.
Now I wonder what should I choose for my 300 mile treat…
As the weather is warming up maybe something to do with ‘fine dining’ on my patio; I have a couple of ideas in mind
Congratulations on reaching the 200 mile treat. The bird bath looks great and as you say will provide hours of pleasure watching the different visitors.
Thank you
i love the way your oak is opening it’s new leaves Cherrie… i remember that you lost a branch on it a few years ago… but it doesn’t take away any of it’s majesty….peter:)
It is still a magnificent tree. It is doing its best to grow back
Your treat?
How about some home made scones?
I have an excellent book on scones and last time I tried they were melt in your mouth delicious
But for now just being able to get flour would be a treat
Cherie, What a delight to drink in your photos.I forgot how tranquil your blog is.
On the farm,we used to delight in watching the birds in their bird bath and at the feeder in a tree.I love birds too, very entertaining to watch.
Impressed with your mileage. How long did it take you to walk 200 miles?
Hope that you’re well.
I love my garden birds.
It took me from the 1st January to a couple of days ago to walk 300 miles. Well on schedule for the challenge but a little bit behind for my personal challenge.
i am glad spring started to spread her colors in your surroundings dear Cherie

If I am sitting outside somtimes the birds come and say hello to me. Especially the robin and the blackbird
