The open arcaded design of the new St George’s Chapel allows a view through to the upper part of the Chapel of the Holy Spirit beyond.*
The Sheffield Steel Nativity by Brian Fell sometimes stands just within the entrance to the chapel, depending on the season.*
*From the Sheffield Cathedral guide book
The blue sky and stars, which are usually on a ceiling, are beautiful… and unusual.
The chapel is delightful
I especially like the starry “arches” above the choir, Cherry. WOW.
They are a little different
I like to see it is such a colourful building, Cherie
Sheffield Cathedral has a special feel about it
The blue frieze in the quire area is very unusual.
Don’t think I have seen anything like this before.
I have seen something similar, although not in the UK.
