Lake District

Walking in the Lake District 22 years ago, the year before the Foot and Mouth outbreak in 2001.
The outbreak led to me getting out of the habit of walking. I am so happy to have re-acquired the habit. My first tentative steps back into walking were in 2018, then in 2019 I came across #walk1000miles which encouraged me to walk more. Now I just need to become as adventurous as I always used to be ????
I still have these boots, I think I bought them on my journey to the lakes. I also have the hat which is long overdue an adventure…

This must take you back, Cherie. And me. Like you I stopped walking for quite a while after the outbreak

I would like to get back to those happy walking days.

Companions are a little lacking in coming forward these days for a joint adventure.
