I have not heard of a month of not mowing, in order that pollinators can get on with their life’s work. Does it work? Has the idea spread to other countries?
Our council certainly embraces it, leaving strips of grassy areas un-mowed.
Its a lovely idea I think and good for insects and wildlife. We have done it for part of our garden and do have a wild flower meadow area at the top of the garden which attracts bees and butterflies.
Our garden is always a little bit wild, we never get it in control.
But these white flowers are poison hemlocks, right?
I know honey from produced rhododendron is not safe for human consumption.
I think it is Cow Parsley:

I think it’s a good idea.
The pollinators need all the help we can give them.
All the best Jan
I like the idea too
And doesn’t it look s much better, Cherie!
Yes it looks far more attractive.
