Autumnal Pathway

As we arrived at Hodnet Hall it started to rain. This didn’t matter as we intended to have lunch before going for a walk. Lunch, as always was delicious and the rain had stopped by the time we were ready for our walk.

The rain fall had enhanced the vibrancy of the garden colours leading to our walk being especially enjoyable.

Much later in the afternoon the heavens opened which meant we got a bit soggy walking to and from a family visit.

The vibrancy of the garden colours does stand out. Even if you get a bit wet taking the photos, your hat and coat will dry within an hour.. but the photos last for ever.

You did well between the rain, especially as the heavens open so suddenly these days. Sorry you got wet in the end, Cherie

  5. Went to Kew Gardens last week, still rather green though.
Maybe a few more weeks, then we can see some colour.

Oh, what a great picture of you two, you both look so happy!

And how is it on rainy days in fall, it still looks so lush and green and beautiful there?

The trees changed this year, but it was very brief, then went to brown due to lack of rain (thus your greenery, I guess) – but even when we’ve had good summer rain, by October, things are rarely still that green!

We have lots of rainy dull days this year and not much summer sun. The leaves reached their autumn colours later this year and are only just starting to fall properly. My patio rose bloomed late and it has flowers (and buds) even now, it usually stops flowering the end of August/begining of September.
