… the sun was out an Hodnet Hall was calling.

Tea Room

We arrived in time for lunch and we both ordered smoked mackerel pate.  It being a sunny bank holiday sunday we had to wait longer than usual for our lunch to arrive which meant that I forgot to take a foody photo when it arrived.

We explored different parts of the garden than we had on our previous sunday visit. It was a joy to see the spring flowers in bloom.

Beautiful Trees

Look at the trees, look at the birds, look at the clouds, look at the stars… and if you have eyes you will be able to see that the whole existence is joyful. Everything is simply happy. Trees are happy for no reason; they are not going to become prime ministers or presidents and they are not going to become rich and they will never have any bank balance. Look at the flowers – for no reason. It is simply unbelievable how happy flowers are.

Spring Blossom

On my walk to a local school for my weekly afternoon session listening to children read I noticed these beautiful spring blooms.

Later in the day I donned my new reversible wrap skirt to dine in a local restaurant, the Orange House. The restaurant provides a Tapas menu and we have been meaning to visit since it opened but didn’t quite get around to it until today.

The food was delicious. We will dine there again when the opportunity arises.

Bluebells

The days are drawing out and Attingham park stays open later giving me the opportunity to venture on longer walks. Today I ventured into the deer park. It is a clearly marked path but not listed on the visitor map. After a while I retraced my steps because I wasn’t sure how long it would take me to circle back round to the bridges that lead to the house.

Oh… I forgot to mention I had a ‘naughty cake’ (Lemon Drizzle) before setting off on my 5 mile walk.

Hodnet in Spring

The sun had got its hat on so it would have been rude not to go out for lunch.

Untitled

Hodnet Hall provides lovely lunches and cakes, a perfect choice. The gardens are lovely at this time of year with colourful blooms in flower and bluebells along the pathway.

Lunch and a sunny garden walk what more could I ask for…
