BBC News (York & North Yorkshire) have reported that a section of Roman road has been discovered during excavations underneath York Minster:

Archaeologists have unearthed a section of Roman road beneath York Minster.

This processional cross is carried at every principal service that takes place at York Minster, it was given to the Minster in 1912. The design is based on an Abyssinian cross that was given to Westminster in 1902.
