I love the picture….but can’t agree with Jean-Paul.
That picture is every bit a Monet (the style looks just like his “Autumn at Argenteuil”). You’ll be exhibiting at the Louvre next!
Glad you like the picture. The original picture is my garden covered in snow.
Sadly true, that quote. Lovely palette and manipulation of the image, C.
Thank you
I think you probably see the quote the same way as I do.
How much do you believe in the Sartre dictum?
I haven’t read any of his works although I know the basic premise his ideas. Which particular aspect of it were you referring to?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm depends when and where
It does doesn’t it
As is heaven… Sadly far more people create hell than heaven
I agree that is very true.
right !!!
love your painting too ….
lots of kissesssssssssssssssssssssss
Glad you like it
Monday kisess xoxoxoxoxox
Sartre is much neglected these days, I’m sad to say. As de Beauvoir said, “He’s the one author who never lets you down.” “L’enfer, c’est les autres” is from “Huis Clos” or “In Camera” in English. You need to see or read the play to see what he meant. But it’s also a reference to individual reaponsibility to others in the context of wartime resistance. For example, if a French resistance group blew up a German supply train, they might have done some good, but they also knew that there would be reprisals, so what is their responsibility to others? Sorry, I tend to go on a bit when it comes to Sartre and Simone.
Don’t be sorry I found it very interesting. I haven’t actually read any Sartre, but now you have got me intrigued.
Isn’t that the truth?
I had a feeling you would appreciate it
Oh very true!
Sadly it can be.
Well … not many of us would admit that (at least sometimes) we are other people’s hell, hm?
I think it is best not to dwell on that
Yes! I think that Sartre was describing himself. Reading about him, he wasn’t that much fun to be with. Pauvre Simone!
It was great to discover your Flickr. Interesting photos and tableaux.
He did seem a rather dark character.
Thanks for your kind comments with regards to my Flickr.
