I am posting these as a special request for Claudia.

I love this majestic oak tree at the bottom of my garden. I always refer to it as ‘My Oak Tree’ but it is actually in the garden behind. The branches hang over the bottom of my garden and it always deposits plenty of leaves for me to tidy up in autumn.

Magnificent as usual. The Christmassy card was also lovely.

The age of any fine old oak can be found by measuring in inches the circumference of its trunk at shoulder height. This equates to an age in years which out of due deference to our elders, is never an al fresco topic.

It’s impressive what a little acorn can become if it finds a place in the sun.

  4. It’s a beautiful tree.

You were so right, CherryPie. It’s an enchanting Oak Tree. Those many branches, whether full or denuded, create a fairyland atmosphere. Your photos are a work of art. The slideshow on flickr is magical. Thank you with all my heart for sharing the splendor of your tree.

Thank you so much Claudia :-) Nature just seems to work for me when I look out of my window. I sometimes have to rush to get my camera so I can capture the moment.

Sometimes there seems to be a whole world in that tree, that includes the birds who are far too quick for me to capture ;-)

Trying to put within one word what – as Mylady knows – easily I could put within 50 sentences: Beautiful. :)

    Very nice Cherie.
Strange as it may seem I have exactly the same situation here. ‘My Oak’ forms part of the boundary line at the bottom of the gardens.
It is somewhat spoilt by ivy climbing up it, which in turn is home to dozens of grey squirrels.

    • CherryPie says:

I didn’t like the ivy growing on this one at first, but I have sort of got used to it now. I gives contrast in the winter months.

There are lots of birds and insects around the tree but no squirrels.

Very majestic. I always think trees have a personality of their own, don’t you? In my garden I have a sombre tree, a merry tree, a cheeky tree and a generous tree (that one gives me fruit).Of course, I could be totally barmy :D

  9. That certainly is a beauty of a tree Cherie

I love tree photos especially when they have no leaves :-)

Beautiful oak tree, Cherie – and you’ve certainly made it your own, with this series of pix.

  12. [...] I thought the snow scenes from my garden would make good Christmas cards. So I created some more pictures similar to the one I posted a few days ago. [...]
