TraditionalOn the way to work I had to do a small detour to my local parcel office to pick up a packet that the postman tried to deliver yesterday.  I knew it was a bad idea due to the time of year, but as they only keep packages for a short while before returning to the sender it was something that had to be done.  As I turned the corner I could tell there was no way I would get parked as the cars were bumper to bumper. This meant I had to go and find a car park (with empty spaces) and walk back to the parcel office.

I am sure you have guessed by now that there was a long queue of people collecting their Christmas parcels, so I had rather a long wait.  Whilst waiting I noticed that I would need some form of identification and there was a long list of things that would be suitable, none of which I had with me.  The last one on the list was Trade Union Card, which rather surprisingly I don’t have.  I was hoping that my works pass would be OK but for some reason I was the only person that wasn’t asked for some form of ID.  Phew!

Also whilst waiting I noticed a very strange contraption on the ceiling and I wasn’t the only one to do so.  It had small red and green lights on it and the red one kept going on and off.  We decided it wasn’t a heater…

After all of that I only just made it to work on time but lots of people followed me in through the door, including one lady who had been in an even longer queue at the post office.

Now I am off for a meal out I wonder what is on the menu.  Just thinking about it has made me feel hungry.

You can enjoy yourself with a decent wine when you trust the place. If you fancy something a little different I recommend a vegetable rice dish with warm Sake. Mmmmmm…..

Well there was red wine and definitely good company. I will hopefully get time to blog about it over the weekend :-)

I have tried the vegetable rice dish but I have never tried Sake…

I can’t believe that we did nearly the same thing today!!!! Apart from working because I’m retired, and parking because the Post Office is walking distance. I hope nobody was spying on the long queue. Some people were loudly irritated. In any case, I’m safe; I didn’t say a word except thanking the clerk nicely for the parcel. It will be fun to hear what you had from the menu. I ate out, too! Best Wishes from Toronto.:-)

Same thing here (post office queues stretching to infinity, seemingly – certainly involving lengthy wait), only difference = someone can be relied upon to make Huge Fuss/lose temper, etc., thereby providing free theatre to the rest of us! Hope you enjoyed the meal.
