Lovely and they clearly have embraced the photo thing ~ nice to see. All the places i have been so far are still a pain about the camera..

This year I have been quite lucky in that most of the places have allowed inside photography (without flash), even the National Trust properties.

In this place the first room guide made a point of telling me that I was allowed to take photos if I wanted to. I was quite taken aback.

  2. Claudia says:

I would gladly sit there for hours…if they let me look at the books!

There is a room next door with the same outlook where you are encouraged to sit and enjoy the books that are placed there for you enjoyment :-)

Thank you so much for taking us on this visit. It is so unusual that you have been allowed to take photos. I have really enjoyed it. There are so many of these wonderful houses in the UK.
    Cheers

I am glad you enjoyed the visit :-) I have been quite lucky with being able to take photographs inside houses recently. They seem to be relaxing the rules a bit.

I was thinking the same thing as Claudia, but the chairs don’t look very comfortable!
…………….I must be getting old, I’ve just noticed I keep commenting on the comfort, or lack of it, of various bits of furniture :-D

    • CherryPie says:

Judging by the size of some of the books in the book case you would need to rest them on a table. But yes I usually like to curl up in a chair to read too :-)

  5. Ginnie says:

THAT would be a place to read a good book, Cherie. THAT.

  6. CalumCarr says:

Sedate, peaceful and uncomfortable …. but there is always the floor.

Isn’t that the most fabulous room and that view!

In some ways it reminds me of my sitting room. It has a bay window and the glass panes look similar and I can curl up in the chair to read my book and glance out into the garden and see the oak tree blowing in the breeze.
