After the difficulties on the journey it was nice to arrive at the hotel and book in. We were all given rooms in the new part of the hotel, in fact I think that the three rooms on the top floor (one of which I was staying in) are brand new. They have the unusual descriptions of cosy, charming and great. The one I was in, was graded as charming and I thought it rather rustic and quaint
The room as you can see had an interesting view.
Beware! Bruges is famous for its Chocolates!!!!!!!!
Chocolates in Bruges? Really
And, if I remember correctly, lace.
But it was the chocolates that left a lasting impression.
Yes there was quite a lot of lace too
Memories return of my own trip there this Summer. Lovely place to spend a few days in.
I love the place, but it was nicer with out all the building works that are going on at the moment.
Now you have made me resolve to visit Bruges
You would love it there
I hope you didn’t bump your head on any of those strategically placed ceiling beams.
They seem to have been in just the right place so I didn’t
It does look rather charming, rustic, quaint AND very clean
It was ultra clean, which is why I think the room was new
I went to Vegas once and spent the night in a room with ceilings like that.
I felt like I was in jail. LOL.
It certainly didn’t feel like jail, it felt like a perfect retreat from the hassles of every day life.
You didn’t see Colin Farrell there by any chance?
I think we missed that filming opportunity but we were told quite a lot about it
I love rooms that have angles like that along the roofline, Cherie. So fun for decorating and very cozy. And the view is definitely worth it.
It was very cosy, like a home from home
I love those Cherry chocolates But, I brought them home and my son made sure I didn’t have too many. Great images
I do have some chocolates but the box remains closed for now. I am on a diet after all
Glad you found a quiet relaxing place after your drive. I love the view of the Bell Tower and the cute bear. Brugge is one of my favorite towns.
It is such a lovely place isn’t it?
