My Mum mentioned recently that quite a few plants in her garden had not made it through the particularly cold winter. She was especially sad that the ones my Dad had bought that unsuspectingly (several weeks after the order) arrived on the day of his funeral seem not to have made it through the winter months. I told her to wait and see, there may still be life in them yet…
The conversation prompted me to go and look to see how my garden was fairing. I was pleased to see that there is new growth on the rose that I got on what would have been my Dad’s 80th birthday
It was a good subject for my camera tests. I know my Dad would love the photos, he was after all the inspiration for my interest in photography in the first place.
These are two beautiful macros Cherrie….it is nice to see that spring is coming in for you….i live in Northern Ontario…..we still have four feet of snow and i looked out my window a while ago and there is another two inches of fresh snow on it….but spring will get here….just much later:D….peter:)
Thank you Peter
I love spring, but I do love the snowy months too. Both are ideal for a good photo opportunity.
It must be a wonderfully inspiring thing to see new growth on something worthwhile, as distinct from new growth on sick things in our society.
You just need to get out in amongst nature
Ah, that’s so sweet and touching!
I’m sure he would definitely love your pictures.
Thank You LC
Surely your dad is smiling. Let us know if your mom’s plants suddenly spring to life.
I know he is and I will let you know
So glad to see your special rose is coming out–a cold winter can do a great deal of damage. Thanks for the nice comments–I’ve had to go back and get “old stuff” out because there is just nothing colorful here yet. Soon though, very soon. Have a great weekend. Mickie
I hope I we don’t get a sneaky frost that takes us by surprise. I hope you have a great weekend too
Am a bit envious you have GREEN things growing:) Isn’t spring a wonderful event?
Lovely macros Cherie – your new camera serves you well.
Thank you Janice, I am really enjoying experimenting with my new camera.
