That is quite some heavy clouds coming in over Attingham Park. There is something ominous about the whole scenery and in particular the light. It might be a perfect storming coming in?
I think it was the snow clouds drifting away. It was very atmospheric that day
It maybe a calm after the storm…
The snow storm was fading away
Some heavy clouds there, nice! Good photo.
The clouds are very atmospheric.
I see a patch of snow and a patch of blue. It doesn’t get better for me in winter time, Cherry.
Now I’m wondering what “It” refers to in the quote: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerald_Tablet .
if you read Walter Scott’s book you will find out what “it” is
Ha! Not Stephen King’s It?
Apparently, we’re in the wrong book club….
Ginnie – The ‘it’ in the quote very much understates the meaning of the words. I know you know what ‘it’ refers to.
JD – I didn’t realise that Walter Scott had written about this. I am only familiar with his poetical works. Especially Marmion, a romanticised version of the Battle of Flodden.
LC – It is quite different from Stephen King
A great variety of interpretations of the original text can be viewed on the following link:
Some of the interpretations are better than others.
Snow in the distance appropriate for today as it feels so cold.
That day had so many different moods
One of the stranger ones, Cherie.
It is very strange, but very interesting to consider the what the text actually means. There are so many different interpretations. I have my own, as I know you will too
i wish i had a window with this view …. especially on a gloomy day …
Much better to walk out an experience this view on a gloomy day. It really lifts the soul
Hope you missed any downpour with those heavy clouds overhead.
It had snowed, which is why I rushed out to take photos. The snow clouds were receding into the distance. It was a perfect time for getting interesting photographs.
We went to Attingham on Saturday, it was lovely if a little chilly in the wind. I enjoyed seeing the first of the snowdrops…great pic Cherie and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a little more white stuff ~ be it frost or snow
I was in Kent at the weekend and was surprised to see some snowdrops so early
Glad you like the pic
And I was close to think it was a she. If at all.
The males (I talk to) who explore in this area think ‘it’ is a she. They think the female is key to everything…
I am still considering the whole concept
Hm … … Anyway: The upper half of the photo is beautifully dramatic.
I was just going to say, did you just change the subject
But no I will move on from that thought
That sky is very dramatic, it has a certain something
PS: Sweat dreams
ha ha ha … And the peace of the night to you, CherryPie.
Such gorgeous light..color..mood. A beautiful landscape!
Thanks Marcie, it was a lovely place to be on that day
