With a little bit of snow to brighten up this wonderful scene Cherie… i love the two Deer Bucks on the coat of arms at the center of the roofline….peter:)
It is a fine crest isn’t it?
It was jolly chilly on that day, but very pretty.
You know me and architecture, Cherry! I sure am glad you zoomed in on those fabulous harts!!!
Maybe you will get the chance to visit yourself one day
A wonderful front entrance…and I knew Ginnie would say that Harts, you never can go wrong with that
It is very impressive isn’t it?
We often think of the architecture, in that time period, being so dark and dismal…but those floor-to-ceiling windows kept things brighter than most of our homes today, I think. Now the heating is a different story
Magnificent coat of arms – no one displays those or family crests on or in their homes anymore, do they?
Then again, I wonder what the neighbors would think if I just suddenly displayed one off my balcony?
(I don’t think think it would have the same effect from a third floor apartment, do you?;)
On the day we visited it was so cold that the room guides were wearing coats and gloves!!
It think would be fun if everyone displayed their coat of arms on their balconies
You have brought back memories of my third floor apartment (although we would say third floor flat). I had great views from the front room windows, sadly no balcony!
Really strange the link would not work before it has through this comment. Great I can have a good browse now.
The server where my blog is hosted was experiencing problems. Hopefully it is fixed now.
Beautiful bath stone!
It is nice isn’t it?
It looks awfully cold.
It was extremely chilly!!
So much exquisite architecture and history in your country. I’m hankering for another visit across the pond!
We are lucky aren’t we? And to think that a lot of people in this country don’t even give it a thought…
