A orange globe appeared in the sky and stayed all weekend which is rather strange and unusual for a bank holiday. I had a busy weekend spring cleaning, but also found time to chill out and read for a while.
Today the weather was too good to miss so we headed out in the direction of Ludlow and decided to have lunch in Clun. Unfortunately ‘The Green Man’ festival was taking place so the tiny village was heaving with people. It always pays to do your homework beforehand…
We struggled through Clun and headed out along the country roads. We found a hidden gem of a tea shop near Clungunford. All the food was home made and I overheard that they had been up late last night getting all the food ready for today. I can confirm the food was delicious and will certainly go back again if I am in that area.
After lunch we went to Ludlow and this also proved difficult. The roads in the centre of the town were all closed because there was a fun fair in the street for the bank holiday week. Eventually we found a parking space and navigated our way on foot through the fun fair to the rather more peaceful grounds of Ludlow Castle.
It was a perfect summer’s day in spring 
I am so glad that you found that yellow globe today Cherie… while you were out and about having tea and lunch… we washed out our hot tub and filled it up… the i just spent about an hour taking shots as the sun was setting… i guess that we both had a great day….peter:)

And it was there again today, but I was at work. However I was able to seize the opportunity and have my evening meal on the patio 
It’s fine that you have had the sunshine. I know from all the relatives and friends that the UK weather has been dismal for ages so you deserve a bit of brightness.
I must look up Clum. That has got to be the best place name ever, and I have never heard of it. Ludlow, yes but I can’t think where that is either. Do you know that I have lived most of my life in the UK? I obviously didn’t get around enough.
They are both in Shropshire and driving around that area in the sun was delightful

Saturday I too did some cleaning and on Sunday I took a nice bikeride (the shortest way to work and back….. it is doable, 45 minutes, one way, at a reasonable speed)
I love all the fresh green coming alive and along the roads we have the rapeseed, so yellow.
I am with you and crowded towns….come back when everybody is away

Thanks Cherie, I did look up Clun (having unsuccessfully searched for Clum) and realising that must be it. It looks rather lovely, as does Ludlow. It is a pity that I am so ignorant of all that Shropshire has to offer. In my defense, I am familiar with Lancashire, Yorkshire, Northumberland, Derbyshire, Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire. Not to mention a fair acquaintance with London. Cornwall and Devon were holiday destinations. Hey, did I say that I know a bit about most of the UK but have completely missed out on Shropshire? It’s on my to-do list.
Shropshire is a beautiful county, but it is a bit like Hobbiton in in Lord of the Rings. If you like countryside, walking and quaint English villages it is a good place to be. It however have some awful new towns as well.
It’s lovely when you find a proper tea shop! WE get our priorities right!

It was a bit of a mixed bag here today as far as the weather was concerned!
