An absolutely stunning conversion. Wonderful. I do so wish cathedrals had been built to glorify existence rather than things (I feel) are invented (at least insofar as the specifics are concerned).
That’s me back then (and as convoluted and confused as ever).
It is a fabulous conversion. I think that for whatever the reason they were built they are a lasting testimony to the people who built them. Such skill!
These are all such beautiful pictures that you took to close off your stay at this church/hotel Cherie…
they should be sending you a cheque soon for these wonderful advertising images….peter:)
Thank you
I should perhaps send the links to the hotel
I can see why you’ll never forget such a hotel, Cherry!
The memories are still lingering
great shots. the arches seem to be a recurring feature everywhere.
Yes the arches have been introduced in the furnishings to compliment the arches in the church building.
It looks like the conversion has been really well done. And made a very comfortable hotel.
It is a very enjoyable hotel to stay in and we would go back if we visit Mechelen again.
Ha ha… Even their headboard is so cathedral-like!
I think staff working there should all dress up like nuns and priests!
I think that would be a bit surreal
Although on a previous stay in another Martin’s hotel I thought the room bear looked rather like a monk

Is that an old church conversion. Cherie? That is a stunning hotel. Love your teddy cameos!
It is a stunning church conversion
The Teds often stow away (when I am on my travels) and expect me to post photo cameos of them :-O
Teddy bears have a special place within my family too. Who can resist a lovely teddy, especially a stowaway.
