Great architecture!
I agree
It looks a fine place to visit
There wasn’t time to organise a visit inside the Town Hall but Mechelen is a fine place to visit. There is so much to see!
i love the way that you framed the palace Cherie…
then you brought is in a bit closer with each of the other three pictures to show us even more of the details….peter)
The details on the building are lovely aren’t they?
Fabulous details on this building, love the way you ‘zoomed in’ on the building.
Great shots.
It is an interesting building isn’t it?
Wonderful building CherryPie, shame they don’t keep up the standards today:)
The newer buildings certainly have a different style about them!
the top shot is excellent. i like the head one view and the fine straight lines
Thank you
They just don’t bother with such artistry when it comes to architecture anymore, do they? Beautiful building, superbly photographed[as always],Cherie.
Modern architecture has a different slant, some of it is appealing and some is not. But as you say there is no attention ‘artistic details’ and craftsmanship any more.
Thank you for your comments about my photos
Incredible detail. I must say I’ve had my head in the sand and have never heard of this place before. All the people I’ve known that visit Belgium just go to Bruges.
When I went to Bruges we stayed in a hotel in the Martin’s chain. As a Christmas present we decided to go away rather than buy presents. You can read how we ended up in Mechelen in the following link:
