Christ on the Cross

This painting depicting Christ on the cross was painted by Anthony Van Dyck in 1630.  It decorated the main altar of the former Friar Minors’ church before the French revolution.

    I remember this church, everything about it is fabulous, the pulpit with all the carved animals, the stained glass. A piece of art all together.

    I came across St Alkmund in Derby yesterday. ;)
