Entrance to Villa Cimbrone

The cloister can be found to left beyond the the the sixteenth century doorway to the Villa Cimbrone. The cloister, a delightful small courtyard in Arabian/Sicilian/Norman style. The archway is supported by two columns sporting two boars heads which recall the family crest of Lord Grimthorpe.*

What an intriguing place, Cherie – and it looks as if you had it to yourselves

Lovely images there. I especially like the old tower.

It looks to be a cool respite place on a hot day. Very pleasant and your description, though brief ….. “delightful small courtyard in Arabian/Sicilian/Norman style”… is just spot on.

This looks like a fabulous place to visit. Is it open to the public or do you need to be a resident of the hotel?? Ginnie and I intend to make a trip by car from our home to Ravello and visit all the main cities on route…. This will be in April/May 2019 as a celebration of my retirement……..

Oh Wow!!! I am so excited that you are able to retire soon :-)

The garden is open to the public, but you have to pay a small fee for entrance to the garden. It is well worth it. Also consider visiting the gardens at Villa Rufolo.

I recommend a stay in Ravello for a few days to celebrate your retirement. However, when you are there I recommend parking the car and using public transport buses/boats to explore further.

  7. Beautiful images – what a superb place to visit.

  8. The courtyard looks a bit like the Alhambra.
    Have you been there yet?

  9. Simply beautiful – something from an exotic, far away, land… Love that first shot, too.
