There is so much to see here, Cherie. As often happens with your pictures, they encourage me to visit further afield
I am happy that my visits inspire you
This is so beautiful and it shows that you always have to look UP. What great colours that ceiling painting has.
There is lots of looking up and down in this Cathedral.
Sanctuary ceiling?
Have you seen the one in Peterborough Cathedral?
It’s worth a visit!
Admission free but you need to buy a photo permit (£3) from them.
Ha~ I remember this so well, cos you don’t often come across policy like this in England.

Another wonderful piece of art. I need to add Peterborough to my list
I have been in other churches that are free but require a photo permit. I quite like the idea
Ha ha… You should indeed.
Peterborough is very close to you.
A little bit further away for me than it is for you (in journey time)
Indeed so, Cherry!!!
The artwork does the subject justice
Paintings on the ceilings really amazing. What time and patience it must have taken to complete.
The paintings are exquisite and completed by two different artists.
So beautiful – it looks the most wonderful cathedral with so much to see. Did you visit the stained glass museum?
Unfortunately the glass museum was shut whilst we were there due to scaffolding being demolished after recent building work on the cathedral. It reopened a few days after we returned home.
He cometh.
He is always with us.
What is best about your beautiful place that it reveals so so many majestic and magnificent architecture that I don’t think I could have found anywhere else dear Cherie!
Thank you so much for sharing this elegance of your part of land
The old gothic Cathedrals and Churches do have a distinct style about them. I am glad you enjoy seeing them as much as I do
Such a beautiful ceiling!
It is incredible
