Stokesay Castle

We had an afternoon jaunt that ended up with a visit to Stokesay Castle.

After our visit we enjoyed afternoon refreshments (including lemon drizzle cake) from the tea shop. I am so out of touch with ‘almost normal’ days that I forgot to take a photograph of the tasty indulgence.

This is such a surprising and amazing survival. Have you ever tired making lemon drizzle cake? It is very simple to make, and sooooo good!

  2. Lovely photos. Stokesay Castle is just an amazing place. Did you have to pre-book? We really must go back there one day and the cake sounds tasty!

We did have to book. But with English Heritage it is possible to book on the day. We booked 15 minutes before our visit on this occasion.

We have booked several English Heritage attractions in this way.

The new tea shop is lovely, we might even use for a lunch stop if travelling in that direction.
