What do the blue and pink gumboots represent?
They represent the town of Wellington. It is just a bit of fun artwork.
Very beautiful photos of greenery. What are the buildings shown in the first two photos?
The first two photos are the same building. It was originally a bank; I need to take a photo of the building rather than just the windows so that you can see.
It has now been repurposed as a small independent Cinema (The Orbit) and community arts hub with a café.
I love the Wellington boots! What a quaint little town, looks worth a visit
Side note, we had a project at work, named after the Kiwi town of Wellington. All the UK people just referred to it as ‘Boots’ because we could exactly type out Wellington every time. Our Kiwi colleagues were not amused
HaHaHa
There are several projects to rejuvinate ‘our’ Wellington and there are some lovely retail outlets that cater for everything we need. The town is also getting a reputation as a foody town with lots of daytime catering particularly in the market place.
If you do visit be sure to let me know and we can meet up for a coffee (or drink of your choice)
