Lime Tree from a Fabourite Bench

I got a bit carried away taking photos on my recent holiday (nearly 1000). It is taking me a while to work my way through them…

So for now here a few photos from this afternoons walk.

Dorothy Clive Garden

We took mum on a day out to Dorothy Clive Garden. The weather was kind to us and the garden was spectacular with the Laburnum arch and Rhododendrons in full bloom. We toured the top part of the garden before lunch and the bottom part of the garden after lunch. Before we left we couldn’t resist revisiting the waterfall and the Laburnum arch.

We then then took mum on a mystery tour to Bridgemere Garden Centre before we retuned to her house where we had a cup of tea on the patio. Whilst there I spotted a gorgeous baby blackbird trying out his wings. He had a short stubby tail and struggled to balance as he flew clumsily from one perch to another. He settled in a low tree and stayed there for a while before somehow managing to fall out of the branches, landing on the floor just behind where we were sitting. He scuttled off into a corner where Father blackbird kept a watchful eye on him. I hope he didn’t hurt himself as he fell and that by now he has clumsily made his way back to his nest.

Stokesay Castle

We had an afternoon jaunt that ended up with a visit to Stokesay Castle.

After our visit we enjoyed afternoon refreshments (including lemon drizzle cake) from the tea shop. I am so out of touch with ‘almost normal’ days that I forgot to take a photograph of the tasty indulgence.

BBQ Embers

We spent our day with long overdue gardening tasks followed taking the pruned clippings to the recycling centre.

As evening approached the weather was perfect to test out our new Kadai Bowl for en evening dinner. It didn’t disappoint and we were amazed that the coals were still burning after four hours. By this time we had moved the fire bowl onto a low stand and placed it on the patio next to us so we could feel warm and cosy in the remaining heat.

I am planning a rearrangement of my patio area to accommodate the new experience. In addition to that I need to find a perfect solution to enable covered ‘Fine Dining’ on the patio when the weather is less favourable.
