I’m first so it says ‘No comments’ and I think No Comment is an appropriate comment!!

  2. jameshigham says:

Now Cherie, methinks there’s just a mite too much interest in certain aspects of that statue.

  3. I’d like one cast in my image for our garden. :)

  4. jmb says:

Interesting statues adorn that place for sure. Love the lizard investigating.

    Happy weekend to you Cherie

  5. jameshigham says:

Yes, intriguing indeed. Wonder what it means, Cherie? :)

  6. YTSL says:

Looks like the lord of the manor (or was it the mistress?) had… unusual artistic sensibilities! :D

  7. ubermouth says:

I think it means men are snakes. :)

I am not too good with pc lingo, but I know statuespeak.

We have statues in our gardens and they talk to me at night[and dictate some of my posts!]

I love Rodin’s The Thinker and Michaelangelo’s David.

  8. Bengbeng says:

well, it succeeded in attracting our attention so the artist has succeeded in a way

  9. jameshigham says:

    It is nice though.

  10. Definitely some surprising artwork. Not sure I really want to know the symbolism behind it!

  11. Phidelm says:

Interesting variation(s) on the theme of the Green Man … ;-) ! I’d love to visit Abbey House, though: looks gorgeous, and there aren’t too many buildings on that scale from the period surviving intact (most having been either razed and rebuilt or extensively updated). Good w/e Cherie, and thanks for the pix! Px

    • CherryPie says:

I hadn’t thought of the green man, but yes :-)

I have three fave gardens and this is one of them ;-)

I hope you have a great weekend too.

  12. LOL, I liked ubermouth’s and liz’ comments!

    Yes, QUITE the surprise!

My Photo Hunters is up! I hope you can come visit my Surprise! New York Traveler.net

No wonder we cannot see the whole face. In such a situation, anonymity is preferable.

  14. A fascinating find…it certainly would be interesting to know the symbolism. Apparently the owners tend to their gardens in a rather provocative state of nudity. Everything is created to give the WOW! effect be it the colour scheme of the flowers or the statues themselves. The owners have tried to maintain a medieval look in creating the gardens as well.

    • CherryPie says:

They also have days where people can be naturist, but it is done in a very tasteful way.

The gardens are wonderful, one of my favorites :-)

  15. sally says:

    very interesting :-)

  16. [...] and is the work of Ian Rank-Broadley, the same sculptor that produced the statues in a previous PhotoHunt post.

  17. I missed this photo hunt, and I’m glad I followed your link today back to these sculptures. What wonderful work! I love the lizards, the men are beautiful.
