This processional cross is carried at every principal service that takes place at York Minster, it was given to the Minster in 1912. The design is based on an Abyssinian cross that was given to Westminster in 1902.

The scene behind the alter depicts the crowns of all the saints ascending to heaven. It was made by the Broderers’ Guild in 1974 when the chapel was refurbished.
