In all my visits to Paris over the years I have never seen Notre Dame without scaffolding. It is normally the building itself that is covered in scaffolding but this time as you can see it was in front of the building. A temporary structure is being built for the Cathedral’s anniversary celebrations next year, it will allow visitors to see the front of the building and its features more easily.

It’s a beautiful cathedral
It certainly is and it is the first time I have been it for years.
They’ve made a good job of the restoration.
It looks like new doesn’t it?
scaffolding or not … still a beautiful building
It is a beautiful building
I know that cathedral as if I had built it. I read so much about it in French literature. I even wrote a poem about my trip to Paris…Yet, I have never been there! It’s lovely, Cherie, to revisit Paris with you. Merci de tout coeur!
Oh! you should visit if you get the opportunity you will love it Do you still have you your poem? I would enjoy reading it.
Now that you mention it, Cherry, you’re right. Next year might be the time for us to go back!
If you do, let me know when. When plan to go back next year and we could meet up
One of the great buildings of the world.
It certainly is
Next year?
How old will it be next year?
I am sure inside it said the 900th year celebrations which doesn’t quite add up… The cornerstone was laid in 1163.
I do wish I had remembered to photograph the sign that gave all the information about the celebrations. I can’t find anything on the internet…
