Now things are beginning to reopen we took the opportunity to visit Hampton Court Castle Gardens in Hope Under Dinmore. On arrival our first port of call was the Orangery Cafe where we sat outside in the sunshine enjoying a sandwich whilst taking in the view.
After lunch we enjoyed a walk around the gardens which were as lovely as I remembered them on a previous visit. It was nice to visit somewhere that did not require tickets to be pre booked.
Oh I have only been to the one on Richmond.
This Hampton Court is new to me!
On my first visit when we could tour the house. There was a big play on the connection between the two!
This Hampton Court is of course a lot more modest in proportions.
The rotunda surrounded by water looks peaceful. Was it ever used as a bandstand?
Not that I am aware of.
Beautiful photos – the gardens look wonderful and very quiet. You have given me an idea for a trip out at some stage especially if you don’t have to pre-book. It looks so lovely there.
It is lovely and quiet. Not everything can be open at the moment and the price is reduced accordingly.
Not having to book is wonderful, it makes a visit more spontaneous.
I have a few other ideas up my sleeve
Lovely.
The 20th photo reminds me of Seanhenge.
Seanhenge is a special place
I am glad you enjoyed the photos
Surely, the great outdoors would be some of the safest places to be right now. Hope you are well.
Yes the wide open spaces are calling to us
We are well and safe, I hope you are too.
So you have been to the one in Richmond too?
Did you also visit Ham House?
It’s really worth a visit.
No we have not been to the Richmond one or Ham House. yet…
I’ve been past here so many times (usually on the way to Ledbury) and I keep meaning to stop for a visit.
It is well worth a visit.
The house is not open at the moment but it was still a wonderful visit
