I recently had a mini break in the Ty’n Y Cornel Hotel which is situated next to Lake Tal Y Lllyn. Whilst there I completed my ‘Thank You Rainbow 5k walk challenge.
The medal symbolizes the spirit of the recent lock down.
Just before my mini adventure I reached 600 miles in my #Walk100Miles challenge. The night before we set off on our travels I ordered ‘Britain’s Pilgrim Places’ as my reward. When I arrived home I was surprised to find it tucked under my doormat waiting for me.
The book inspires me to explore new places.
I agree. Exploring new places is a delight, especially if you do the reading before hand so you know what to focus on and you know what questions to ask. I intended to explore most countries in the world when I was young, and spent a good 6 weeks a year travelling (during the Australian winter holidays) for decades.
Over the last 5.5 years the exploration stopped because of financial problems due to retirement from work, surgery, pandemic etc etc. Now I will be exploring my own country in much more detail
I have always loved exploring my own country. I have most likely spent more time at home rather than exploring abroad.
That being said I always love my wider adventures abroad but not always the journey to get there.
