Ledbury

Ledbury is a market town and civil parish in the county of Herefordshire, England, lying east of Hereford, and west of the Malvern Hills.

It has a significant number of timber-framed structures, in particular along Church Lane and High Street. One of the most outstanding is the Market House,[2] built in 1617, located in the town centre. Other notable buildings include the parish church of St. Michael and All Angels,[3] the Painted Room[4] (containing sixteenth-century frescoes), the Old Grammar School, the Barrett-Browning memorial clock tower[5] (designed by Brightwen Binyon and opened in 1896 to house the library until 2015),

  1. Oddly enough, these buildings around this Market House reminded me so much of the buildings around the Old Market Hall in Shrewsbury.

Market squares are often similar. A local biographer has photographical added a picture of a market hall to the square in my local town.

It looks very much like Ledbury.

  2. Beautiful. I HAVE to visit there! Herefordshire does have some wonderful towns, villages and buildings. Have a good weekend.

Ledbury is well worth a visit. My next post is about St Michael and All Angels Church which I know you will love :-)

I hope you have a good weekend too.

That Tudor style of architecture is so eye-catching.
