…for me :-)

Sunshine

As you can see my blog has now been restored to its former glory. Thank you Tech Support.

The recent garden work is now complete and the next stage of the project will be to work on the borders and add some more colour for all seasons. The sun was out yesterday and I took full advantage of a little bit of gardening and a lot of sitting ;-) Some of the photos show that ‘my oak tree’ is making a come back, which is very welcome.

Garden Project

The bricklayer came first thing this morning with two of the workmen who had been working on the garden earlier in the week. He got to work on the two retaining walls including finishing off the incomplete footings for the wall at the end of the garden and organised the laying of the footpath.

I love the new wall around the patio area :-)

The shed needs building and placing in the right position and there are a few rough edges that need sorting out. This work is scheduled for Monday, so tomorrow, we need to tackle the ivy that is invading the back fence…

Dining on the Patio

The weather was favourable, allowing us to dine on the patio and enjoy our garden.

And the bees are loving the sunflower that was a gift from one of our resident birds :-)

Wells Cathedral & Glastonbury Tor

Yesterday I returned from a lovely but all to brief weekend away in Wells. Shortly after we arrived home we were visited by the gentleman who is organising the next phase of work in our garden so that he could confirm what work needed to be done.

New Shed

The men who were going to do the garden work turned up around lunchtime today. The workmen were given instructions by their supervisor and left to get on with the work. They made good progress in extreme temperature (Summer has arrived), although they did not get to the point that was expected. They were very noisy (loud conversation) in their work so I was forced to retreat to the front room so I could relax on my day off work.

A Work in Progress

The garden workers will be back tomorrow to continue with their work… I am liking the progress so far :-)

I have plans ;-)

In addition to this I have been informed that the server where my blog is hosted will be turned off soon. This means that I have to make sure all my files are saved properly so that I can upload them to a new server/new host.

Blog posting may be a little infrequent whilst I get my new hosting in place…

During our stay in the hotel we were lucky enough to have been accommodated in the Willis Suite. Breakfast as I mentioned before was nice, but served in an unusual way.

Sir Joseph Banks conservatory

The Sir Joseph Banks conservatory is impressive and surprisingly had plant life growing from within and without!!

John Dawber walled garden

The John Dawber walled gardens are a quiet oasis, a lovely place to sit and rest a while.
