View from the Bench

I was sitting on a bench looking at this lovely scene just before I took the photograph that accompanied my ‘Cherie’s Place Thought‘.  The couple I was chatting too walked off through those gate posts and I went back to capture some pictures of the flowers that had caught my eye.

Recently, whilst I was browsing through my stats to see which of my posts had aroused interest I came across an unusual google search that had lead someone to my blog…

When all the people in the world love one another, then the strong will not overpower the weak, the many will not oppress the few, the wealthy will not mock the poor, the honoured will not disdain the humble, and the cunning will not deceive the simple.

Rusticated Arch

Cool and Shady

The Orangery, built to overwinter citrus fruits, is simply furnished with pots and containers and provides cool felief on hot summer days. The oranges are moved outside once fear of frost is past. The exterior walls are festooned with yellow Bankstian rose and buff ‘Gloire de Dijon’, passion flowers and tubular flowered eccremocarpus. The sandstone frontispiece and rusticated arch were moved here from the main entrance to the castle at the begining of the twentieth century.*
